73 years old, Karnail Singh is the founder trustee of Kiwi Indian Charitable and Social Club New Zealand.
He is a Justice of the Peace and a Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant in New Zealand. He is involved in lot of community service. He provides free services for attestation of documents 24X7.
He has done Bachelor of Arts from India and has done a number of courses in New Zealand including Walking Group Leaders Training Course, National Certificate in Computing Level 2 and 3, Certificate in Practical English Level 3 and 4, Safe with Age certificate, General Manager’s Certificate under Sale and supply of Alcohol Act 2012, Age concern accredited visitor training, grow your own vegetable course, Mahi Ora (Employment Skills Course), Victim support course, Corporate academy group 2009 ambassador training, First Aid Training.
He is associated with many government, non-government, charitable organisations and does voluntary work as a grass root volunteer. He is volunteering with Universal Peace Federation since 2008 and has been appointed as Ambassador for Peace. He is a volunteer as a Community Gardner and also volunteers with Victim Support a government agency providing personal support to victims of crime. He is also a volunteer with Papatoetoe Neighbourhood Support Papatoetoe since 2010 and with Neighbourhood support Manurewa since 2014. He is also a volunteer with Papatoetoe Crime Watch Patrol since 2010. He did community service as a home tutor (voluntary) under English Language partners in South Auckland from 2011-2015. He was a volunteer with Auckland Council Recycling Waste Wise Champion in 2014.
He has been awarded with many prestigious awards including Minister of Health volunteer team award in 2015, Age concern Volunteer, Volunteer award by Victim Support in recognition of significant contribution, Manukau City Council certificate of recognition in appreciation of service to the community in 2010. He was also awarded with Indian Community and Sports Award in 2011-2012.
He helps senior citizens and any other person who needs personal support for attending medical appointments, interpretation services and help with training in different spheres of life. He also holds training sessions for creating awareness among the Indian community relating to civil defence and response strategy in the event of natural disasters or calamities.
